Install on Windows
- Unzip anywhere, for example to
C:\Tools\janushdl. - Add its
binfolder to yourPATH, or run the programs from there. - Check:
jhdl --versionprints the version.
Install on Linux
- Unpack anywhere:
(On a Raspberry Pi:mkdir -p ~/tools tar -xzf janushdl-0.8.0-linux-x86_64.tar.gz -C ~/toolsjanushdl-0.8.0-linux-aarch64.tar.gz, andaarch64in the path below.) - Add its
binfolder to your path, in~/.bashrcfor example:export PATH=~/tools/janushdl-0.8.0-linux-x86_64/bin:$PATH - Check:
jhdl --versionprints the version. The window, jhdlw, needs a desktop session (X11 or Wayland) with Vulkan or OpenGL drivers (without them it draws in software). On a minimal system it may need a library package or two, such aslibxkbcommon-x11; it says which, and how to install it. The command line needs nothing else.
To run existing scripts, add one compat/<family> folder to your path instead of bin (it has jhdl too). See the specifications.
